In this short lesson you will learn how to set the email “from name” that will be used for every email that is sent from from your CRM. You will likely want to set this for each of your Profit Platform domains that you connect to the Profit Platform CRM.
Important: You cannot set the email from name in your CRM until your dedicated domain for email has been set up. Setting the dedicated email domain in your CRM is a manual process handled by our technical support team that can take 2-3 business days from the time that you originally submit the request to create your Profit Platform CRM for your domain. If you see a message saying “No Dedicated domain found” when you follow the steps in this video, then the tech team has not yet completed your setup. If it has been more than 3 business days since you submitted the CRM creation request from your Profit Platform CRM page, please contact [email protected] and ask for a status on the dedicated domain setup. Be sure to include your domain name in your email.

[00:00:00] In this video, we're going to walk through how to set your email “from name” up in your CRM. So let's jump into it.
[00:00:07] First thing to do is log in and you'll be on your dashboard once you've logged into your CRM. And then the next step is to go over to the Settings area. So click on this Settings icon down here, and then you'll be here in the settings area.
[00:00:20] In order to set your email from name, what we're going to do is come over here, just to the Email Services tab. And some very important things to note here is that we've already set this up for you, and we've done a number of things to increase the chances of good deliverability for the emails that you send by setting things up this way. So you do not want to really change anything in here except for what I'm going to show you. So the email “from name” is set over here. If you click on this button here, that says “Dedicated Domain and IP” if we go here and then you see the default header settings here. So this is what's going to show, as it says here on all emails that are sent through this domain. So therefore, no matter what other from name or email address you might try to set on any template or email or automation email that you set up in your system, it's always going to be using this from name. So you may not want to use the name that's already set here. And for example this domain for me is kittycareacademy.com, one of my demo domains here. And, the default email address is
[email protected] and you do not want to change that. That one is the email address that's assigned to your domain and is being used for all of our deliverability settings.
[00:01:42] But what you can do is go ahead and change the name, that's okay to change. And so what you can do is click here on this three dot icon and then click “Set Headers” and then you can type in whatever you'd like here. So for me, I want to use the from name of “Jay at Kitty Care Academy,” so I've typed that in, and I'm going to click Save. And that's all I'm going to change, and you notice it did have this message come up over here that talks about a potential issue, and do not worry about that. There is nothing to worry about with that message. It's not an error message, it's just an informational message that really does not have any bearing on anything we're doing here. So at this point you're done here and in order to get back into your main CRM area, you can just hit the “Go Back” button and you'll be back at your dashboard.
[00:02:30] So that is how you set your email from name.
